It came this week just in time for me to wear to a wedding, and it was the perfect cocktail ring! I’ll find a pic xoxo

Just because it’s cheaper doesn’t mean I have to buy it - that will be my mantra from now on! I’ve definitely found myself buying more than I need these last few months because it was there and less expensive at the thrift/consignment store and I even now have some of those things back in my donate/sell to consignment shop pile after wearing them only once because I don’t really love them. It’s a good wake up call! Thank you for your candidness!

I feel this deeply! When we moved earlier this year I had to stand face-to-face with my thrift hoarding problem - SO many things, some still with Goodwill tags on them, went right back to the donation bin! It was a sobering moment.

Well said! Shopping secondhand helps me stay in touch with my own taste. The more I’ve thought about style and sought out Substacks on the subject, the more I’ve second guessed myself. NOT THE INTENT! 🚩

It's definitely a double-edged sword of wanting to hear what other people are into while also realizing it's going to seep into your subconscious that you're not doing enough, spending enough, etc!

i love the idea of including non clothing items in a mood board focused on dressing. i keep my home/style/inspo board separate, but i can defiantly see the appeal of them informing each other - especially in the texture department!

I've found it super helpful in remembering I have a whole entire personality outside of *just* getting dressed - you kind of have no choice but dig a little deeper as to why you're being drawn to something!

That Maxxinista line =D I still can't get over how big bags can be. What the heck are we keeping in there? I also work from home and switched to a fanny pack during lockdown and haven't looked back. Except... I keep seeing the Loewe Puzzle and someone I follow finally broke and has two now and I'm like...could I...? Just a nice brown one...?

Ahaha everything here is so relatable (is it sustainable if I am just thrifting things I barely wear and then inevitably donate?) and ofc fantastic finds as always (every handbag here is working in tandem with my inner shopping demons. Trying 2 stay strong) but just wanted to say that your second mood board is EVERYTHING 🙏 how is the headboard pic communicating exactly how I want to feel for fall? Answer: magic of the moodboard.

I felt that story of the Margaux bag in my gut. I also work from home and find myself taking a little 'me time' on shopping sites when I should just get up from my desk. Do I need a 4K handbag when 80% of my time is spent indoors? Thanks for the reminder that I probably own what I need including a coat to spend more time talking walks. I'll still look for a good barn jacket second hand though. Rome wasn't built in a day and all that.

It's hard to stay focused when we're being advertised to spend money everywhere we look! And I'm very supportive of the "take a walk instead" tactic -- I started walking for an hour after lunch (I am blessed to have a flexible freelance schedule) and it has 100% benefited my mental health to realize there's a big ol' world out there outside of the internet.
