Does merch that’s either worn in a tongue-in-cheek way or playful and perhaps even a bit silly in design also feel a bit like a reaction to peak minimalism and the quiet luxury (yawn) flattening of everything? There was this weird tipping point in the last five years where the sameness of everything also felt like the absence of humour and really truly enjoying getting dressed. Basically what I’m trying to say is that I feel really hungry for good merch and have spent the last week obsessing over this hat:
