In a season filled with promotional emails/ gift guides/ flash sales/ holiday markets/ work parties/ family stuff/ seasonal sad stuff/ regular sad stuff/ world sad stuff/ trying to stay sane stuff - it’s hard to manage digital life, let alone irl life. I’ve been feeling guilty for being light on the newsletter front, but I also feel like everyone has plenty to occupy their time and inbox through the chaos of December.
There will be plenty of time in 2024 to dive into all the “content” I have been dreaming up for this space….I’ve also been an insanely busy bee these last few weeks working to sell our home here in Austin, Texas. More on that later this week — I’m very excited to share with you our next adventure and how I think Trash Panic and exploring personal style will fit very neatly into it all.
I thought I would pop back in this week to talk New Year’s Eve - a strange holiday that can feel like a choose your own adventure kind of night.
I’m all for the glitz, glimmer, and glamour of Gatsby-esque sparkles and champagne towers, but there’s just something that feels strangely bittersweet about the night, a split second where the timeline seems to warp and flicker - a moment that reminds you that time moves on and doesn’t look back.
I personally refuse to spend the holiday in a place that bumps bad club hits and charges exorbitantly insane covers. After years of attempting to be a person who parties until the sun comes up, I have finally accepted the reality - I am a certified party pooper.
But that’s just me! Go forth and put your party pants on!
Or be like me and put on your finest and best pajama pants!
There is no wrong answer.
SO, whatever your plans may be, here are some things for hosting a shindig at home, lounging in your pajamas, or going full glitz for a wild night out on the town.

For a glamorous night in:
Tinsel Garland - Vintage is obviously best, but I do love the quality of Meri Meri garland and I save it in a box to reuse for many holidays and occasions.
Mosaic Mirror Ball - While I love a traditional disco ball, the artsy fartness of this hanging one feels uniquely elegant.
Embroidered Pillow Case Set - My mom always let us slumber party in the living room on special occasions. Dress up your couch with vintage linens to feel extra special!
Bimini Champagne Glasses - I think this is the third time I’ve featured these glasses and they are $$$, but they are so dreamy and perfect for a glam night with your gal pals.
Striped Pajama Set - I don’t really believe in “must haves” but I do think a striped pajama set belongs in everyone’s closet.
For dancing the night away at home or out on the town:
Sequined Full Length Cape - This picture does not do this justice. It’s a showstopper.
Feather Trim Dress - Brown 🤝 Green 🤝 Feathers
Beaded Flapper Cap - I’m seeing a lot of hate on the bow trend this year and while I think that’s all overly dramatic and silly, if you’re really wanting to stand out in the crowd, a beaded flapper cap will do the trick.
Black Stem Wine Glasses - The length of the stem on these feels so artsy, sexy, fun.
That’s all for now!
I’ll be back later this week to wrap up the year and hint at some of the fun things to expect in this space in 2024.
As always, thanks for reading, commenting, and sharing with your friends and family - it means a lot!
Until next time,
xo,
G
